Community Services

Community services are public welfare activities that promote respecting the elderly and caring for the young, support for vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities, and mutual assistance within society, reflecting the spirit of socialist humanitarianism. Since the launch of the “Community Services” initiative, service teams of the China Council of Lions Clubs have remained deeply rooted in local communities, providing personalized services to persons with disabilities, elderly people, adolescents, low-income families, and other groups in need of assistance. Through material assistance, cultural activities, and daily living support services, the initiative helps address practical difficulties faced by community residents. At the same time, community residents are encouraged to support and assist one another, fostering a spirit of self-governance, collective spirit, and community awareness, while enhancing residents’ sense of well-being and strengthening community solidarity.

Children’s Wonder Fairs

The “Children’s Wonder Fairs” initiative of the China Council of Lions Clubs combines public welfare education with social practice, guiding children to experience the value and joy of dedication through hands-on participation. As the only distinctive service initiative of the China Council of Lions Clubs with an independently registered trademark, the program primarily serves children and adopts second-hand item exchange as its main activity format. The initiative provides a platform for joyful interaction, communication, and sharing among families and neighbors within local communities, helping children develop environmental awareness through the recycling and reuse of second-hand items, promoting neighborhood connections, and fostering a healthy and harmonious community atmosphere. At the same time, the initiative encourages children to donate items to schools in underdeveloped areas, cultivating public welfare awareness from an early age and helping them develop values of gratitude and responsibility. The initiative is also closely integrated with multiple service projects of the China Council of Lions Clubs, giving rise to a series of public welfare activities such as “Children’s Support for Education,” “Children’s Support for Persons with Disabilities,” “Children’s Support for Families in Need,” and “Children’s Care for Left-Behind Children.” The initiative has demonstrated distinctive social value and public welfare impact.

Environmental Protection

The natural environment provides the basic conditions for human survival and serves as the material foundation for production, economic growth, and social development. With rapid global population growth and rising productivity, industrial and domestic waste has continued to increase, leading to worsening air, water, and soil pollution and posing serious challenges to ecological balance. The “Environmental Protection” initiative of the China Council of Lions Clubs aims to promote ecological conservation and environmental awareness through a wide range of public welfare activities. By promoting the concepts of environmental protection, energy conservation, and emissions reduction, the initiative seeks to strengthen public education on environmental protection and guide people to protect the environment through everyday actions and personal responsibility. The initiative also encourages broader public participation in environmental protection efforts and promotes the shared responsibility of safeguarding our planet and common home.
