「New Year Kindness: Winter Care for Persons with Disabilities」In response to the China Disabled Persons’ Federation’s 2026 New Year and Spring Festival work arrangements regarding assistance services for persons with disabilities, and in line with the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, the China Council of Lions Clubs launched the “New Year Kindness: Winter Care for Persons with Disabilities” special service initiative. It focuses on addressing the urgent needs and practical difficulties faced by persons with disabilities, while delivering the care and warmth of the Party, the government, and all sectors of society. Through acts of kindness and volunteer service, the initiative aims to dispel the winter chill with compassion, enabling persons with disabilities to feel the warmth of society and enjoy a joyful and harmonious holiday season.

「CCLC in Action • Hundred Clubs to Empower Persons with Disabilities」The China Council of Lions Clubs has long been committed to disability support services and fully recognizes the importance of cultural enrichment and social participation for persons with disabilities. Guided by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation’s principles of “targeted empowerment for persons with disabilities and the promotion of common prosperity,” and building on the strengths of newly established Lions clubs rooted in local communities and grassroots services, the China Council of Lions Clubs launched the “CCLC in Action • Hundred Clubs to Empower Persons with Disabilities” service initiative. Through systematic project planning, program design, and service management, the initiative seeks to help persons with disabilities step beyond their homes and engage more fully with nature and society, enabling them to experience equality, inclusion, and respect. At the same time, the initiative aims to mobilize broader social forces for the spiritual and cultural needs of persons with disabilities and promote the development of an accessible and caring inclusive society.

「Lions Care: Bringing Light to the Blind」In response to the national strategy on accessible environmental development, and by leveraging the community service strengths of the China Council of Lions Clubs to further extend disability support services to the grassroots level, the “Lions Care: Bringing Light to the Blind” initiative has mobilized all 14 districts to establish approximately 100 standardized accessible cultural service stations in local communities. By making use of Braille publications, audio reading devices, accessible films, and other inclusive cultural resources, the initiative seeks to break down information barriers faced by visually impaired persons. The program serves persons with visual impairments and low vision, while also benefiting other disability groups, including persons with hearing and physical disabilities, ensuring their equal access to public cultural services such as reading and film appreciation. The initiative also aims to address gaps in community-based cultural services for persons with disabilities and build a “15-minute disability support service circle,” enabling persons with visual impairments and other persons with disabilities to enjoy diverse cultural services within their local communities and share in the benefits of social development.

Eye Care Brightness Action

The “Eye Care Brightness Action” initiative is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of blindness in remote and underdeveloped areas. In addition to providing large-scale free medical consultations, outreach screening visits, optometry and eyeglass services, and sight-restoring cataract surgeries, the initiative also helps establish professional training platforms for township health centers in remote areas, with the aim of improving the professional capabilities of local medical personnel. The program has become one of the influential flagship service initiatives of the China Council of Lions Clubs.

Light It Up Blue

“Light It Up Blue” is a coordinated service initiative launched by the China Council of Lions Clubs in connection with World Autism Awareness Day to promote care and support for children with autism. Since its launch in 2011, the initiative has continued to expand in scale and social impact, contributing to greater public awareness and understanding of autism through sustained public outreach and support services for persons with autism. April 2 each year marks the official launch day of the “Light It Up Blue” service activities of the China Council of Lions Clubs. On that day, local representative offices and organizational member, in coordination with local governments, illuminate landmark buildings in blue and carry out coordinated service activities lasting one to two months nationwide.

Education Support for Minors

“Education Support for Minors” is a comprehensive service initiative of the China Council of Lions Clubs aimed at supporting children in difficult circumstances through educational assistance, daily care, and teaching support services. The program primarily serves left-behind children, migrant children, children from families in need, and orphans. By integrating resources and mobilizing collective efforts, the China Council of Lions Clubs carries out a wide range of service activities, including providing educational assistance funds, supporting the construction of schools and libraries, and donating teaching materials and daily necessities. Through these efforts, the initiative seeks to address challenges faced by children in difficult circumstances, including lack of daily care, limited educational support, and lack of emotional companionship. By focusing on rural basic education, the initiative also provides humanistic care and professional support to children and schools in remote areas, creating broader opportunities for their future development.
