我们是经国务院批准、依照国家相关法律法规，在民政部注册登记的从事公益慈善志愿服务的社会团体，于2005年6 月14日在北京正式成立。我们对内组织引导会员开展形式多样的公益慈善服务活动;对外作为国际狮子会的团体会员，统筹与国际狮子会的交流与合作。我们坚持走中国特色社会组织发展之路，坚持中国共产党的全面领导，遵循"自主建会、独立运作、坚持宗旨、依法办事"的办会原则，接受民政部社团登记管理机关和业务主管单位中国残疾人联合会的监督管理和业务指导。我们的公益志愿服务范围涉及动员和开发社会资源，鼓励、引导、组织、推动会员向社会提供助残、扶贫、济困、扶老、救孤、恤病、优抚服务；救助自然灾害、事故灾害和公共卫生事件等突发事件造成的损害；促进教育、科学、文化、卫生、体育等事业的发展；防治污染和其他公害，保护和改善生态环境；其他促进公益事业的慈善活动。
China Council of Lions Clubs (CCLC) is a legitimate social organization engaged in the charitable cause with voluntary services. It is approved by the State Council and registered at the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It was officially established in Beijing on June 14, 2005. It organizes and guides the members to carry out various kinds of charitable services and activities in mainland, China, and communicates with Lions Clubs International and conducts international exchanges and cooperation. CCLC adheres to the road of development with Chinese characteristics. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, we follow the principle of “founding and operating the council independently and adhering to our motto and the law”. We are led and supervised by the authority for the registration and administration of social organizations under the Ministry of Civil Affairs; we are also under the direct guidance and supervision of China Disabled Persons’ Federation. We mobilize and develop social resources and encourage and guide our members to serve. We provide a wide range of voluntary services for people with disabilities, people in poverty or in need, senior or orphaned people, people with major diseases and veterans and their family. We offer relief after natural disasters, accidents, public health events and other emergencies. We support the development of education, science, culture, health, sports and other undertakings. Our services also cover pollution prevention, environmental protection and other undertakings for public welfare.

Our members come from all walks of life, who are passionate about Social voluntary services and devoted to public welfare cause for long time. They have made achievements in their respective fields and professions and realized their public welfare ideals in the big family of CCLC.
